Road and track rider Joel will be aiming to build on his extensive palmares in 2009.

In 2008 Joel was part of the Agiskoviner team, that won the National Team Pursuit Gold Medal. This was a quiet year compared to Joel's normal standards, but he still managed to a a further two European Masters' medals (silver and bronze), along with a National Masters' Gold in the 3km Pursuit. 

2007 saw Joel place 1st in the National Masters' Pursuit, 2nd in the National Team Pursuit, 2nd in the National Madison Champs, 2nd in the National Masters' Points Race and 2nd in the National Masters' 15km Scratch. This was in addition to 6 criterium wins and multiple top road race placings.

In 2006, Joel achieved first place in the World Masters' Pursuit, following a trio of gold medals at the National Masters (Pursuit, Points and Scratch) and 3rd in the Central Division RR Champs.
